What a Fantastic life he lived. Jock is the one of the best brothers you could ever ask for. Unfortunately, he died at 1340 today (20 Nov 2007). We've created this site as an extention of the strapper site so that you can contribute to his farewell. Thanks for your contribution. Jock an inspirational life

It was with great sdaness that I learned of Jock's passing on the 20.11.07.

I always found Jock an inspirational individual who lived life to the max !!

The world is a poorer place for Jock's passing.

Jock Styles; In us...Through us...and Around us...

As I was cycling along at 6am on Sunday morning, I looked up and saw a bright beam of light shining down through the clouds. Somehow it seemed Jock was speaking to me. He was saying I am not going to leave you. I will always be with you. Jock will always be In us Through us and Around us.

So look for him...When you see Lachie smile, When you see Cameron score a goal at soccer, when you see Georgia captain the Silver Ferns...you'll know that Jock's there... in them

So look for him...When you see Pippa telling a story, Duncan cycling a 100 miles, Bronnie organising a party, you'll know that Jock's there...through them

So look for him...When you read Meghan's first book, when Rebecca wins her black belt in Tai Kwando, When Edward drives his Ferrari, William stars in his first film and Emily dances her way into the history books, you'll know that Jock's around us

Anybody touched by Jock knows his special gift for love, life, happiness and a good laugh. We are all his mates in some way. We are blessed to know him...and as he would say FIGJAM

Dear Bronnie, Duncan, Pip , the children and the rest of you lovely people.
Louise just rang, broken in tears, to tell the sad news of Jocks passing. Dear old Jan has kept us posted for the last weeks on the developement of Jocks condition and though Jock never failed to impress us with his strength and courage, we did feel that his condition now might be fatal. Jock was, and still is, one of our true heroes, and I'm glad I told him so when we last were able to be in his presence at Gunnars 80th at your summer house some 3 years ago. The photo of us all, with Jock smilingly stretched out in front, has a special place by our fireplace.
Yes Bronnie and Duncan, there are lessons to be learned from Jock and we will try the best as we can to extract some of his spiritual essence and inject it into our own lives. It hurts to think of the fact that Jock won't be there to see his kids grow into adulthood and be with Bronnie to share these moments. But I also believe that Jock leaves a legacy that will make both you Bronnie, and the kids and the rest of "our" family (if you permit me) to see life, and maybe even enjoy life as the ultimate gift to us all.
I will cherish his memory and the good times we had together forever, and I will keep you all in my thoughts in the days ahead.
We have also lots of happy memories from years back living together as new "step brother and sis", to Jock and Brons' visit, when we first moved to Lillehammer way back in 93. Every time we've been home to NZ, we've just picked up where we left off. Sadly I wish we could have shared more in our lives......but your inspiration and love will live on always Jock. Our love and thoughts to Bronnie and children.

Jock, your courage and cheerful spirit in face of everything that you went through is an inspiration to us all. We feel privileged to have known you, and will always remember you.
Things that I remember - the fact that the word 'mate' could convey such warmth, the look of enjoyment behind the wheel of anything fast, the 'fisherman Cam' chant at Tutukaka.

Dear Jock Bron and kids. We just heard the story about how Jock got sacked from Colenso. He "borrowed" a huge vacume cleaner and got pinged when they (nameless) returned it. no more job.
